Woof!

My name is Scott Mahon

I'm a born and raised Geelong (Bellarine) boy with an absolute passion for dogs. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember and am stoked that I've been able to turn this love into my work.

I live in Herne Hill with my wife, two kids, and two dalmatians Stella and Bonkers. Stella is a champion and so full of character, now 9 years old she is still as energetic as a pup. Bonkers is a bit more of a gentle soul. He was born deaf so has always been a bit more timid but once you've earnt his love you'll have it forever. After primarily owning working dogs and boxers the dally's are a change of pace but have been excellent companions.

The history of Crazydog Solutions

Growing up with a passion for dogs and farming, I started breeding and training working dogs in 2003 while working as a Sheep Stockman in country Victoria. Having up to 15 working Kelpies, I witnessed their exceptional work and companionship. Living alone on a large property with a pack of dogs allowed me to learn about their natural behavior and interactions.

Working alongside these dogs and observing other stockmen's working dogs, I gained insights into pack dynamics, behaviors, and reactions. It became clear that dogs instinctively revert to their natural settings without human intervention, a concept often misunderstood. Spending most of my time surrounded by dogs, I unknowingly acquired a wealth of knowledge.

I also rehabilitated "failed" working dogs from various farmers in Victoria. Many of these dogs lacked proper training but had the instincts for herding. Witnessing the mistreatment of these dogs, I saw the potential in kind and calm training to transform them into happier and more willing workers.

Crazydog Solutions emerged after successfully helping family friends improve their dogs' behavior. Impressed by the results, they referred others, prompting me to pursue dog training full time. With advancing technology, I now offer convenient training and coaching options, including in-home sessions and online consultations.

The Training

I have a unique approach to dog training that is based on my practical experience in various environments with different types of dogs. This has developed over 20 years of working with people and their dogs. While there are many popular training methods with catchy terms, I prefer a straightforward and simple approach.

As a dog trainer, I focus on helping owners effectively communicate with their dogs in a calm and kind manner. I rely on simple tools like a standard dog lead and a few treats here and there. I strongly believe that by understanding your dog's perspective and clear communication, you can improve their behavior and strengthen your relationship.

My dog training method is therefor called - Human Training.
